Then glue and brad nail the 18-inch boards across the rails to form the middle panel. According to the story, the new Wayne Manor was rebuilt after the original was burned, though Wyetzner says this plot line is somewhat ironic given the choice of buildings in the films. Wollaton Hall, an Elizabethan mansion, was used in The Dark Knight Rises to depict the rebuilt estate. However, this home actually predates (and was the inspiration for) Mentmore Towers—the version that caught ablaze two movies ago.

Bruce promises a brick-by-brick rebuild of his family home, but even though Wayne Manor returns in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises, Mentmore Towers does not.
